Carlos M. Quiňones, Esq.

Carlos M. Quiñones has fourteen (14) years of varied experiences in the legal field, representing clients in all kinds of legal practice areas, including employment law, labor law, contract law, civil rights and tort law.  He is a New Mexico State Bar Board-recognized specialist in employment and labor law.  He served as the Chair of the New Mexico State Bar Employment and Labor Law Section in 2006.  He has presented at various conferences and seminars, and has published several articles in legal journals and newsletters.  In 2005, Mr. Quiñones appeared on the Albuquerque public access channel for a program on “English-only policies in the workplace.”

           Prior to opening his Santa Fe office earlier this year, Mr. Quiñones was a partner at Narvaez Law Firm in Albuquerque for four years.  From 2000-2003, he represented a large retailer in employment lawsuits throughout the country.  He has tried federal jury cases in St. Louis, Denver, Philadelphia and Little Rock, as well as in New Mexico.  He is admitted to practice in New Mexico state and federal courts, the United States District Court in Colorado, and before the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.  He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Hispanic National Bar Association, and the New Mexico Hispanic Bar. 

            Following graduation from the University of New Mexico School of Law, Mr. Quiñones served as a law clerk to the Honorable Leslie C. Smith, United States Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court, District of New Mexico.  Following his clerkship, he worked in several law firms and as an in-house corporate attorney. 

            He is a native New Mexican, having been born and raised in Bayard (the Silver City area).  He enjoys reading, sports and travel.  Mr. Quiñones is bilingual (English and Spanish).  He is in his second term as a national board member for the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF).
