Effective Monday, April 3, 2017, the City of Las Vegas will allow the public to get reclaimed water from the reclaimed water stand pipe at the Utility Services Center located at 905 12th Street. Hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The cost of the water is $1.25 per 1000 gallons and an additional $.50 charge per trip.
New customers that want to get reclaimed water must stop by the Utility Services Center to sign a usage agreement and set up and account. Existing customers must also stop by the Center to sign an updated usage agreement. Customers will not be able to get water until a signed agreement is on file.
Re-selling of reclaimed waste water is strictly prohibited.

Effective Monday, February 6, 2017, the City of Las Vegas will be charging a convenience fee of $1.25 for utility payments paid with a credit card.

Keep Las Vegas Beautiful is currently establishing a task force for an effective Cigarette Litter Prevention Program in our community. Our CLPP Task Force will consist of elected government officials, department directors and employees, civic leaders, media representatives, business/ property owners and community individuals.
CLPP Task Force volunteers will help execute the cigarette prevention program locally, review litter ordinances, survey areas in need of ash receptacles, check and maintain the receptacles twice a month or more if needed, distribute portable pocket and/or auto ashtrays to adult smokers and provide input for surveys and/ or scans.
We are inviting you to join us in raising awareness about the cigarette litter and prevention. The City of Las Vegas Water Division will be repairing a main water line on 8th Street today, Tuesday Jan. 17, beginning at 8:45am. The following areas will be affected and without water for approximately 6 hours:
- 1500 - 2000 to Block of 8th Street
There will be a road closure at the following area during this time:
- North Bound Lane of 8th Street from Mills Avenue to Diane Avenue.
A detour and traffic control will be in place. Please use extreme caution in this area.

One City Solid Waste Residential trash truck is currently in the mechanic shop. Solid Waste Residential routes will run behind schedule for the remainder of the week.

Due to an unforeseen plumbing issue, the City of Las Vegas Recreation Center will not be reopening the Fitness Center as expected. The City has extended the Memorandum of Understanding with New Mexico Highlands University to continue use of the Archuleta Fitness Center. The renovation project as a whole is on schedule with an estimated substantial completion date of May 5, 2017. We thank you for your patience and look forward to the Grand Opening of the Abe Montoya Recreation Center.
Due to staffing limitations, effective November 23, 2016, utility payments will not be collected at City Hall, 1700 N. Grand Avenue, until further notice. All payments can be made at the Utilities Department, 905 12th Street. The Utilities Department is open Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm. There is a payment drop box available at this location.
The City of Las Vegas Light Parade Committee has eagerly been planning the 2016 Christmas Light Parade.
The theme of the parade for this year is “Christmas Carols Come to Light.”
Archuleta Fitness Center has announced its holiday closure dates.
The center will be closed for winter break from Saturday, December 17 to Monday, January 2
The center will also be closed on the following weekends-
January 7-8January 14-15
Beginning Sunday, August 22, the Abe Montoya Recreation Center will be closed for repair and renovation. The NMHU Archuleta Fitness Center will be available in the interim. The Abe Montoya rec center closure is expected to last 9-10 weeks.
Effective, July 25, 2016, the City of Las Vegas will be returning to Stage I Water Restrictions.
Outdoor watering is allowed Monday, Wednesday and Friday at locations with even-numbered addresses and Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at locations with odd-numbered addresses. Watering hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. OR from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
