The City of Las Vegas Waste Water Department is a publicly owned utility, which operates with funds generated through sewer user fees. The mission of the Waste Water Department is to provide sewer services to all residents of the community, as well as to commercial and institutional establishments. In providing this service, our primary objective is to assure the collection of domestic waste through sewer lines and deliver to the Waste Water Treatment Facility for treatment in a manner that will insure the environment and public health is not adversely affected.

The Waste Water Department has a total of 4,716 customers, 4,227 residential customers and 489 commercial customers.

Requirements for New Service

1. Obtain permit from Community Development (1700 North Grand Avenue). Once Permit is obtained customer must obtain signature from Utility Center (905 12^th Street).

2. Customer must then obtain a sewer tap permit prior to sewer connection. The permit can be purchased by a Licensed Plumber at 905 12^th Street. A Street Cut permit must also be obtained from the Street Division located at 1700 North Grand Ave.

3. After Plumber has connected sewer line to main, they must leave pit open and inform the Waste Water Supervisor for inspection of Sewer Tap.
