We’re heading to Boston as the Celtics host the Miami Heat in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals!
The NBA Eastern Conference finals resumes Saturday with Game 3 between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat from TD Garden in Boston. The Celtics defeated the Heat 127-102 in Game 2 to tie the series 1-1.
Jayson Tatum scored 27 and Marcus Smart and Jaylen Brown added 24 apiece as Boston evened the series at 1-1 with a 127-102 Game 2 victory. Jimmy Butler once again delivered for Miami, scoring 29 points in 33 minutes, but it wasn’t enough to topple the well-rounded attack from the Celtics. Game 3 airs tonight on ABC and ESPN3, with Game 4 scheduled for Monday at 8:30 p.m. ET (also on ABC and ESPN3).
Which team will exit Game 3 with a 2-1 series lead? Time will tell. Here’s how to watch Game 3 of the Heat-Celtics series live online.
After the Miami Heat won the first game of the Eastern Conference finals, the Boston Celtics were able to bounce back in Game 2 in order to even the series up 1-1. Now, the teams will break that tie in Game 3 in Boston on Saturday night. Will the Celtics build off the momentum they established in the second game, or will the Heat have their own answer?
The stars have showed up for their respective teams in a big way so far. Through two games, Jimmy Butler is averaging 35 points per performance against Boston, while Jayson Tatum has scored an average of 28 points per game against Miami's defense. Ultimately, the series could come down to which one of those guys is able to elevate their game the most.
It's safe to say that both teams will come out motivated and eager to claim the lead in the series on Saturday night. Here's everything you need to know about Game 3 between Miami and Boston.

The Heat got destroyed from behind the three-point line in Game 2, something Erik Spoelstra will address. Jimmy Butler has been a force offensively, but Miami’s supporting cast needs to be more consistent. Tyler Herro is a natural candidate to emerge as the No. 2 option, although Bam Adebayo is the one who could likely make a bigger impact if he asserts himself. Expect a more aggressive Heat team offensively in Game 3.
The Celtics will finally be whole with Derrick White’s return in Game 3 after missing Game 2. Boston’s three-point shooting means the team rotates between elite offensive play and cold spells, but Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have been consistent forces on that end of the floor. If Boston can keep finding open shooters, it should have success against this Heat defense. Game 3 is crucial, because the Celtics can’t afford to lose the momentum they gained from stealing homecourt advantage with a Game 2 win.
The 2022 Eastern Conference Finals is tied at 1-1, but momentum is on the Celtics' side as the series shifts back to Boston.
After dropping Game 1 in Miami on Tuesday night without Marcus Smart and Al Horford, the Celtics rolled to a 127-102 win in Game 2 on Thursday at FTX Arena with both of their starters back in the lineup.
Smart in particular played a key role in the victory, falling one rebound shy of a triple-double (24 points, nine rebounds, 12 assists) while playing excellent defense on Heat star Jimmy Butler.
Boston is expected to have its full roster for Saturday night's Game 3 at TD Garden, as Derrick White is set to return after he and his wife welcomed a newborn baby earlier this week.
The Celtics have been nearly unbeatable when they're at full strength, but Butler and the Heat will be plenty motivated to bounce back after getting "embarrassed" in Game 2.
