David Romero, the current Mayor of Las Vegas, New Mexico, took office in December 2024. His extensive experience in public service, education, and community development make him an effective leader for the City of Las Vegas, He has a strong background in public service, having served as a City Councilor and school board member. Romero is deeply involved in local initiatives, including roles on the La Plaza Little League Board, West Las Vegas Head Start Policy Committee, and the New Mexico School Board Association Policy Committee. He also serves on the North
Central New Mexico Economic Development District and the Northern Area Local Workforce Development Board, focusing on education, community development, and regional economic growth.

Robert A. Anaya is a dedicated public servant with a diverse background in education, government, and community development. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, a Master of Arts in Public Affairs, and has completed the Alternative Teaching Licensure Program in Secondary Education with a concentration in Social Studies.
He most recently served as the Farmington and Santa Fe Center Manager for New Mexico Highlands University, where he also led as President of the NMHU Staff Senate. His broad professional experience includes work in education as a substitute and student teacher, as well as technical roles such as apprentice electrician and propane technician. He also worked for the New Mexico Department of Transportation.
Anaya has held several key positions in Santa Fe County government, contributing to the Housing Authority, Community Development, Health and Economic Development, Senior Services, and County Fair Operations. In addition to his public service roles, he is a ranch owner and a former Santa Fe County Commissioner.
Robert A. Anaya is known for his collaborative leadership style and strong commitment to serving the public. With deep roots in the community and a wide range of experience, he is well-positioned to foster cooperation across city departments and promote meaningful progress throughout the community.
