2025 ELECTION INFORMATION FOR
THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS

The Regular Local Election will take place on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

 

Elective Offices to be Filled: 

 

Mayor (At Large) 4-year term

Councilor (Ward 2) 4-year term

Councilor (Ward 3) 4-year term

Councilor (Ward 4) Remainder of 4-year term

On June 8, 2022, the City of Las Vegas opted-into the Local Election Act (Ordinance 22-03) and is no longer responsible for running the election. San Miguel County conducts the election. The election of municipal officers will now occur in November of odd years and be combined with other non-partisan elections for local governing body members. The election changed from March of even-numbered years to November of odd-numbered years. The ordinance included a provision allowable by law to extend the terms of offices for municipal officers. The next election for the City of Las Vegas municipal officers will be held in November of 2025.

Candidate Filing Day will take place on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. All candidates must file their Declaration of Candidacy with the San Miguel County Clerk between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in the San Miguel County Clerk’s Office, at 500 W. National Avenue, Ste. 113.

Placement of Election Signs §347-22 (G) -

Temporary Signs 

  • Includes any sign, banner, pennant, valance or advertising display constructed of cloth, canvass, light fabric, cardboard, wall board, or other light materials, with or without frames, intended to be displayed for a short period of time only.

    • (G) Political signs. Political signs or posters shall be permitted on private property only with the consent of the owner of the property. Political signs shall be allowed up to a total area of six square feet in a residential zone and up to 32 square feet for each sign in a nonresidential zone. Such signs shall not be permitted on any public structure or otherwise located within public lands or right-of-way. Political signs and posters shall not be displayed more than 60 days prior to or more than 15 days after an election to which they pertain.
