Job Description

SUMMARY:

Work is evaluated through the reports submitted and the results of work performed.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Receiving, inspecting, filing and storing incoming materials and supplies.

·         Maintaining accurate inventory records.

·         Issuing materials and supplies to various departments or individuals upon receipt of proper requisitions.

·         Preparing requisitions, fuel logs and invoices for submission.

·         Assisting in the purchasing process by obtaining quotes, soliciting bids, selecting vendors and placing orders for routine and non-routine items.

·         Working with staff to research and resolve issues related to purchasing, inventory control and warehouse.

·         Responsible for periodic inventory counts, audits and of year end closeouts.

·         Operating a company vehicle to pick up and deliver supplies as needed.

·         Maintaining a clean, safe and organized office environment, adhering to safety regulations.

·         Assisting in other warehouse tasks as needed, including packing, unpacking, loading and unloading shipments.

·         Will be required to perform other related duties or other related functions as assigned.

 

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

·         High school diploma or equivalent.

·         Must possess and maintain a New Mexico Class D Driver's License.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read, interprets and works with various forms of agreements, specifications and policies.

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written, for interacting with vendors, colleagues and other stakeholders.

  • Basic computer knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Google).

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify and resolve issues related to inventory or purchasing.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Primarily works in an office setting, which may include exposure to noise, dust and chemicals.

  • Some travel may be required for pickups and deliveries.

  • Involves physical activity such as standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling objects.

  • Must be able to life and move materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds on average and heavier weights with proper equipment or assistance.

  • May interact with various individuals, including staff, vendors, contractors and the public.


NOTE:  This position is subject to drug testing both pre-employment and random as set forth in the City of Las Vegas Drug Policy.
