Monday and Tuesday's residential routes will be picked up on Monday the 23rd. Ifyou r regular pick up day is Monday or Tuesday please have your rollouts out no earlier than 6:00 p.m Sunday night and no later than 7:00 a.m. Monday morning. Please leave rollouts curbside until they are picked up. Commercial routes will run as usual.

Las Vegas, NM - December 20, 2024 - City Manager Tim Montgomery wishes to inform the public of a diesel fuel spill that occurred late in the evening on December 18, 2024, at the City of Las Vegas Water Treatment Facility. Approximately 100 gallons of diesel fuel were released during the refueling of a generator.
The Las Vegas Fire Department responded swiftly to the incident, deploying a hazmat team to contain the spill and initiate cleanup efforts. The appropriate regulatory agencies were promptly notified and are satisfied with the City's response and handling of the situation.
Important Information for the Public:
• No Threat to Water Supply: The spill was contained and posed no threat to the City's water supply. Water quality remains safe for all uses.
• No Danger to the Public: There is no danger to the general public. The area has been secured, and air quality monitoring confirms no harmful levels of contaminants.
• Environmental Testing: As a precautionary measure, the City is conducting soil raw and finished water to check for volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
• Remediation Plan: The City has begun developing a comprehensive remediation plan to address any potential soil contamination and restore the affected area.
