PSA 2/27/2025 4:45 p.m.: UPDATE: False Alarm Determined with Smoke Investigation on NMHU Campus

The Las Vegas Fire Department has completed their investigation into the smoke report near the Tech Building on the New Mexico Highlands University campus. It has been determined to be a false alarm. All fire crews have cleared the campus, and operations within the Tech Building can now resume as normal.

4:15 p.m.: Smoke Investigation at NMHU Campus

The Las Vegas Fire Department is investigating a smoke report near the Tech Building on the New Mexico Highlands University campus, located off of 11th Street. There are no flames present at this time. As a safety precaution, all staff and students have been evacuated from the building.

The public is urged to avoid the area while emergency personnel conduct their investigation and to find an alternate route of travel.
