PSA 4/1/2025 10:30 a.m.: Red Flag and High Wind Warnings in Effect for Las Vegas

A Red Flag Warning and High Wind Warning are in effect for Las Vegas and surrounding areas from noon until 9:00 p.m. today. Winds of 30-40 mph, with gusts up to 60 mph, will create hazardous fire weather and travel conditions. Winds may cause tree and power line damage, leading to potential power outages. Dangerous crosswinds, blowing dust, poor air quality, and low visibility will make driving difficult, especially between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Open burning is strictly prohibited in the City of Las Vegas to reduce fire risks. If you see smoke or flames, the Las Vegas Fire Department is asking for the public to call 911 immediately to help prevent a fire from spreading out of control. Stay alert and take necessary precautions.
