Heavy rain continues to impact Las Vegas and surrounding areas, with an additional 1 to 2 inches of rainfall expected. Some isolated spots may receive up to 4 inches. A Flood Watch remains in effect until Tuesday evening, as the already saturated ground has increased the risk of flash flooding, particularly near creeks, streams, and low-lying roads. Some low-water crossings are already experiencing minor overflow, and roads in these areas may become impassable.
The threat of flash flooding remains significant near the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Burn Scar. Additionally, higher elevations are expected to experience snowfall overnight, accompanied by a sharp drop in temperatures, which could create hazardous travel conditions.
Safety Tips:
• Never drive or walk through floodwaters.
• “Turn Around, Don’t Drown”
• Stay alert to official emergency updates.
City officials are actively monitoring the situation and are prepared to respond as needed. Please stay safe, be prepared, and continue to follow official guidance and alerts.
