PSA 5/6/2025 11:00 a.m.: City Officials Urge Public to Stay Away from Gallinas River

City public safety officials are strongly urging all residents to avoid bridges along the Gallinas River as well as the River Walk area. Despite warnings, some individuals continue to gather near or enter the river. This is extremely dangerous as the river is expected to keep rising.

The city’s top priority is the safety of its residents. Anyone living near the Gallinas River or close to drainage areas should remain vigilant and be prepared to move to higher ground if conditions worsen.

Several roads on the outskirts of the city are currently impassable due to flooding. Please obey all posted signs and follow instructions from city officials. Your cooperation is essential for public safety.

The city will provide updates as the situation develops.
