The City of Las Vegas Solid Waste Department is proud to announce the incredible success of its Residential Bulk Amnesty Day event, held on Saturday, June 7, 2025. The event resulted in the collection of an impressive 93,048 pounds (46.52 tons) of waste, marking one of the most productive and well-managed Amnesty Days in the department’s history.
Amnesty Day was designed to provide residents with a convenient, no-cost opportunity to dispose of various types of household waste responsibly. Community participation was exceptional, and the results speak for themselves:
149 trucks and trailers served
76 residential non-tractor tires collected
426 bags of trash gathered
Average wait time per customer: 15 minutes
“Thanks to the extraordinary support of our community and the dedication of our hardworking staff, Amnesty Day was both efficient and impactful,” said David Marquez, “We’re proud of the streamlined operations, short wait times, and the overall success of the event.”
The Solid Waste Department also extended gratitude to Mayor David Romero and Public Information Officer Amanda Salas for their presence and hands-on support during the event.
“This event demonstrates the power of community action,” said Mayor David Romero. “We’re proud of what we accomplished together and look forward to building on this momentum in future initiatives.”
