PSA 6/4/2025 8:00 a.m.: Flood Watch Issued for Las Vegas Through This Evening

A Flood Watch is in effect for Las Vegas and areas near the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Burn Scar from 11:00 a.m. through this evening. Heavy rain is expected, with totals between 0.5 and 2 inches, increasing the risk of flash flooding on already saturated ground.

Public safety officials strongly urge residents to exercise caution and avoid crossing flooded roads or low-water crossings under any circumstances. The slogan “Turn Around, Don’t Drown” is a critical reminder that even a small amount of moving water can pose a serious risk to both drivers and pedestrians.

Residents are encouraged to stay tuned to local news outlets, emergency services updates, and National Weather Service alerts throughout the day. It is important to remain aware of changing weather conditions and to be prepared to act quickly if a flash flood warning is issued.
