PSA 2/17/2026: High Wind and Red Flag Warning for Las Vegas, New Mexico
The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning in effect from 8 AM to 8 PM today for much of central and eastern New Mexico, including Las Vegas. Southwest to west winds of 35 to 45 miles per hour, with gusts up to 70 miles per hour, are expected. These damaging winds may blow down trees and power lines and could cause unexpected power outages. Travel will be hazardous, especially for high-profile vehicles, and blowing dust may reduce visibility to less than one
