Today has been an incredibly challenging day for our entire community. Our staff has been overwhelmed with hundreds of phone calls from residents in urgent need of water due to widespread outages. While our water treatment plant is still producing water, it’s not at a rate that meets the demand of our citizens. Our city staff have been working tirelessly, delivering water to affected areas throughout the day. Additionally, other staff members have been working around the clock to secure vital resources, which are beginning to arrive for critical need facilities.
Though it may not feel like it right now, relief is on the way, and things will improve. Las Vegas is a resilient city, and we will get through this together. We ask the public not to believe rumors or misleading information, as it only detracts from the accurate messaging we are working hard to provide. Rumors can cause unnecessary confusion and concern. Any official updates will be provided directly by the City of Las Vegas. All information will continue to be posted on our website at www.lasvegasnm.gov, our Las Vegas City Government Facebook Page, and shared through local media, radio, and state television news sources.
We are committed to being as transparent as possible and keeping the lines of communication open with our community. Our top priority is the well-being of our citizens, and every available resource is dedicated to meeting those needs. We will continue to push forward, and together, we will overcome this challenge.
