The City of Las Vegas will host its Residential Bulk Amnesty Day on Saturday, April 25, giving residents a free and convenient way to dispose of large household items. The event will take place at the City Transfer Station, 35 Aragon Road, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Residents must present a current city solid waste bill as proof of residency to participate.
Residents can dispose of household trash, furniture, appliances, mattresses, drywall, yard waste (cut to six feet or less), and up to four passenger vehicle tires at no cost. All loads must be tarped, and large items securely strapped. Residents should follow staff instructions and be mindful of traffic flow on Aragon Road. The event is for residential use only; commercial loads will not be accepted. Items not accepted include cement, bricks, rocks, dirt, sand, paint, chemicals, hazardous materials, car batteries, electronic waste (computers, TVs, etc.), large commercial tires, and animal carcasses.
“Residential Bulk Amnesty Day gives our community an easy way to safely dispose of large items, maintain clean neighborhoods, and take pride in their properties,” said David Marquez, City of Las Vegas Solid Waste Director. “These events help keep Las Vegas safe, clean, and beautiful for everyone.”
Proper disposal of bulky items promotes safety, reduces allergens and pests, prevents overgrowth, protects against water damage, and can even increase property values. Residents’ participation supports ongoing city efforts to uphold property maintenance and community standards.
