PSA 5/16/2025 4:30 p.m.: New Officer Sworn in with Las Vegas Police Department

Lucas Lucero, a Las Vegas, NM native, was officially sworn in to the Las Vegas Police Department on Thursday, May 15, 2025, by Police Chief Caleb Marquez and Commander Elias Rael.

Lucero expressed his enthusiasm about joining the department, stating, “I want to be the one person in my family to be on the right side of the law and do good things. I always thought of becoming a police officer. I enjoy helping people.”

Lucero will attend the Police Academy this July to earn his certification.

The City of Las Vegas extends its sincere appreciation to Officer Lucero for his commitment to public service and welcomes him to the team.
