The City of Las Vegas is proud to welcome two new graduates to the Las Vegas Police Department: Fernando Lopez and Pablo Lopez, both of whom have completed the rigorous training of Academy Class 209. Their graduation ceremony took place on Tuesday, May 20, and was attended by family, friends, LVPD Chief Caleb Marquez, and Commander Elias Rael.
Fernando Lopez carries on a proud legacy—his father, Michael Lopez, is a veteran lieutenant with the department. Over the course of 16 intensive weeks, these new officers trained tirelessly to earn their certification, sacrificing time with loved ones and overcoming the many challenges of police academy life. Their determination and resilience are a testament to their character and the strong support system behind them.
We commend Officers Fernando and Pablo Lopez for their dedication and thank their families for standing by them. The City of Las Vegas is honored to welcome them to the LVPD family.
Thank you for your service and for helping make Las Vegas a safer place to live.
