PSA 6/16/2026 4:30 p.m.: Railroad Avenue Paving to Resume June 17

As part of the Great Blocks Project, GM Emulsion began paving operations on Railroad Avenue between Jackson Street and Douglas Avenue on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. Due to a temporary suspension of the project caused by issues at the hot mix plant, paving operations were delayed.

Paving is now scheduled to resume tomorrow, Wednesday, June 17, 2026, weather permitting. The same section of Railroad Avenue between Jackson Street and Douglas Avenue will remain closed to through traffic during construction hours. Work will take place daily from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and traffic will be detoured around the work zone. Motorists are encouraged to follow posted signage, plan ahead, and use caution around construction crews and equipment.

Following paving operations, there is a possibility that corrective paving or additional work may be required after inspection and final project walkthroughs. If necessary, this could result in additional temporary closures. The City will make every effort to keep the public informed of any changes or updates.
