June 16, 2022 DR-4652-NM MA-012 FEMA News Desk: 9 40-898-5454 FEMA-R6-NewsDesk@fema.dhs.gov Media Advisory FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers Will be Closed June 20 SANTA FE, N.M. –FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) in New Mexico will be closed Monday, June 20, in observation of the Juneteenth federal holiday, which commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. All centers will resume normal operation Tuesday, June 21 (please see chart below for hours of operation). FEMA DRCs enable residents to speak directly with specialists about the disaster assistance application process. The centers are located at: San Miguel County Mora County Valencia County Old Memorial Middle School 947 Legion Drive Las Vegas, NM 87701 VFW Post 1131 2825 NM Hwy 518 ( mile marker 28.5) Mora, NM 87732 Jarales Community Center 426 Jarales Road Belen, NM 87002 All DRCs are ope n Monday thru Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Closed Sundays. In addition to FEMA specialists, recovery experts from the state and nonprofit organizations may also be available at a DRC to address questions and additional needs. Residents can visit any DRC to get help with their disaster assistance applications, upload documents and get answers regarding federal disaster assistance. For a complete list of DRCs in New Mexico, visit the DRC locator page at egateway.fema.gov/ESF6/DRCLocator. No appointments are necessary. All centers are closed Sundays. If it is not possible to visit the DRC or to apply online, call the FEMA Helpline, 800-621-3362. Specialists are available to take calls from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. If you use a relay service, such as video relay service (VRS), captioned telephone service or others, give FEMA the number for that service. Monday, June 20th, 2022 The City of Las Vegas will observe the Juneteenth Holiday and the Transfer Station will be closed. Residential and Commercial routes will run as usual! The Water Division staff will be repairing a waterline line break today, June 15, 2022. The following areas will be impacted by either low water pressure or outage. · 700-1000 Block odds of 7th street · 700-1000 Block evens of 8th street The Water Division will be working on 7th Street & National and 7th & Columbia. Water will be turned on approximately at 4:30pm today June 15, 2022. We hope to complete this as soon as possible and apologize for the inconvenience this will cause. On Thursday, June 16, 2022 beginning at 8:00 a.m. the City of Las Vegas contractors will be paving Legion Drive. The road will be closed Eastbound on Legion from Hanna Park to Calle Contenta. Detours will be in place, so proceed with caution. Road closures will be removed at the end of the work day.
