Evening Update on Low Water Pressure and Water Outages
City of Las Vegas Utilities staff have been working non-stop since yesterday afternoon to determine the cause of low water pressure and water outages affecting the general areas of Camp Luna, Los Vigiles, Country Acres, Airport Road, and NM HWY 518 around Storrie Lake. Although no large leaks have been found, freezing pipes have been identified, which may have caused multiple water leaks in residential areas.
The Water Treatment Plant continues to produce water at its normal rate; however, water usage is currently exceeding production. Essential maintenance to the water system is also necessary, which requires additional water to maintain system regulations.
We are asking all residents of the City of Las Vegas to conserve water and limit usage to essential needs only, so city staff can continue working to resolve the issue.
We are also asking for assistance from the public. If you notice unusual pooling of water on your property, any area that could indicate a water leak, or if you are experiencing low water pressure or have no water at all, please call 505-617-6579 and leave us a message. This information will help narrow down the affected areas so the city can properly address the needs of the community. The Camp Luna area has been identified as the most impacted at this time.
We will continue to keep the public informed as new updates are provided. Please visit our website at www.lasvegasnm.gov or our Las Vegas City Government Facebook page for the latest information.
We apologize for the inconvenience and assure you that city employees are working around the clock to resolve the issue.
