- PSA April 29, 2022 Water Treatment Plant Update.
The City of Las Vegas utilities Department Water Treatment Plant is currently treating water as usual and meeting all state and federal standards. Firefighting resources are on site at the reservoir and water treatment facility to ensure continued operations. There are no impacts to water quality and at this time, the reservoir and water treatment facility have not been impacted by the Calf Canyon/ Hermits Peak Fire. The City of Las Vegas is prepared with a generator back-up plan to maintain operations in the event of a power outage. Water Treatment Facility will remain staffed 24 hours and will update any changes.

Due to a valve repair, the effluent water standpipe at Utilities Service Center located at 905 12th street will be out of service on Friday, April 29,2022. The Utilities Department will be flushing fire hydrants on Tuesday, April 18, 2022, around the City of Las Vegas. The purpose of this is to help maintain water quality standards and the fire protection system. Citizens may experience brief periods of discolored water or low pressure in these areas which is normal during flushing operations. Starting April18,2022 Hays Plumbing will be asphalting the intersection at Valencia and Bridge Street, South Gonzales & Plaza intersection, and South Pacific & Moreno Street. Contractor will also be milling and paving on 12 Street from National Avenue to Douglas Avenue. These intersection will be closed from April 18, 2022 and is anticipated to re-open Friday morning April 23, 2022. - PSA April 13, 2022 Abe Montoya Recreation Center currently has no internet and phone service.
The City of Las Vegas Abe Montoya Recreation Center would like to announce that the facility currently has no internet and phone service. Contractor crews working on new utility lines in the area cut fiber lines coming to the facility. We are still open. We will be closing Friday, April 15, 2022, at 12:00pm in observance of the Easter Holiday. The Abe Montoya Recreation Center will reopen on Monday, April 18, 2022. Starting Thursday, April 14, 2022, the Abe Montoya Recreation Center’s Basketball and Racquetball Courts will be closed until Friday, May 6, 2022, due to the current Hermit Peak’s Wildfire in San Miguel County. The Abe Montoya Recreation Center will be hosting the Fire Crews fighting the wildfire. During the closure of the basketball and racquetball courts the Abe Recreation Center will be providing outdoor basketball courts in the parking lot.
