City public safety officials continue to urge residents to remain cautious around the Gallinas River and the River Walk area. Despite multiple warnings, some individuals are still gathering near or entering the river.

In a recent incident, people attempted to kayak down the river, putting both themselves and first responders at serious risk. This behavior is extremely dangerous, as the Gallinas River is not designed for recreational water sports within city limits and includes multiple low-lying bridges that pose significant hazards. Residents are urged to report any unsafe activity—such as entering the river —by contacting local authorities.

Several roads on the outskirts of the city remain impassable due to flooding. Residents are reminded: do not attempt to drive over water-covered roads. Rain is expected each day through the weekend, with the highest chance of rainfall on Thursday. Everyone is strongly encouraged to obey all posted signs and follow instructions from city officials to help ensure public safety.
