We are continuing to experience water outages and low water pressure in areas of the city and surrounding regions at higher elevations. This is due to our gravity-fed water system, and the lack of water pressure is contributing to the issue.
The Water Treatment Plant is producing water at its normal rate, and maintenance efforts have shown further improvement. However, to increase water pressure and ensure that ALL residences receive water, WE NEED THE PUBLIC TO CONSERVE WATER AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.
Unfortunately, we are not seeing the expected increase in water production. Instead, there has been a significant increase in water usage. Water usage must be strictly limited to ESSENTIAL NEEDS ONLY, including consumption, personal hygiene, medical needs, and meal preparation. Toilets should be flushed only when absolutely necessary, and shower times should be kept to a minimum. We also encourage residents to strictly limit the use of dishwashers, washing machines, and other high-water-usage appliances. Do not fill bathtubs, large containers, swimming pools, or recreational vehicles (RVs) with water. It is crucial that water usage is not abused or stockpiled beyond necessity.
A precautionary boil advisory has been in place since yesterday afternoon, strictly as a preventative safety measure and is not mandatory. This advisory is issued when conditions suggest a potential issue, with the City’s top priority being the safety and well-being of its citizens. Should conditions change, the public will be promptly informed.
City staff are out and about delivering water today to those in need. Deliveries will be limited to those experiencing complete water outages at this time. Please call 505-617-6579 and leave a message to be added to the delivery list.

We will provide further updates as they become available. We deeply understand the frustrations many in the community are experiencing, and we want to assure you that we are working tirelessly around the clock to resolve these issues. We are grateful for your patience and understanding as we navigate through this challenging situation together.
