Following Wednesday morning's walkthrough of the project areas with Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC), the City has confirmed that the Gallinas River Debris Removal Project is complete. The final assessment verified that all qualifying debris within the approved project scope was identified, removed, and properly disposed of at approved designated locations.

As part of the completed project, approximately 5,200 cubic yards of debris and silt were removed from the Gallinas River corridor, addressing significant accumulations that had the potential to impede river flow and impact surrounding infrastructure.

Completion of the Gallinas River Debris Removal Project supports the City's ongoing flood mitigation efforts by improving river flow capacity, enhancing public safety, and helping restore the river's natural flow. Removing debris throughout the river corridor reduces potential obstructions, helps protect critical city infrastructure, and strengthens the overall resilience of the Gallinas River system.

The City extends its appreciation to Sulzer Group, Cordova Construction, Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC), and all project partners for their collaboration and dedication in successfully completing this important initiative.
